“All In” (Day 30)

Verse of the Day
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” - Proverbs 3:5–6

I was born into a hardworking family. From an early age, I learned integrity, diligence, and perseverance. I believed life was simple: work hard, make a living, and everything would be fine. But over time, I realized something was missing. Life is more than work and possessions—it is about relationships, faith, and purpose.

In 1966, I met Cynthia. By 1968, we were married. Looking back, I see that our marriage has been strong because we kept God at the center. We don’t always agree, but we learned not to go to bed angry. We keep working at love.

For years, my life revolved around family and work. I was active in church, but something still felt incomplete. Then, in February 1975, at a “Weekend to Remember” in Madawaska, everything changed. I felt out of place at first. But one night, the message felt directed at me. I realized I had been standing on the edge of faith. I had a choice—to be all in or all out. That night, I chose to be all in.

It wasn’t easy. I had never read the Bible, so I started from the beginning. Slowly, my faith grew. There were hard moments—losing my mother, and losing three children. Yet I hold on to the hope that I will see them again.

God has led me in many ways—from a mission trip to Haiti to handing out Bibles during a large concert. I have learned that mission is not just far away. It is right where we are. I simply try to follow where God leads, one step at a time. – Jack Forbush

Thought for the Day
Where in your life are you still standing on the edge, and what would it look like for you to go “all in” with God this week?
